Nov 2 (Reuters) – Fresenius has signed a development agreement for biosimilar drugs with China’s WuXi Biologics, the German healthcare group said on Monday.
The agreement gives Fresenius exclusive access to up to 37 identified biosimilar candidates over the next decade, addressing more than €370 billion ($414 billion) in originator sales, it added.
• Biosimilar drugs are drugs that are very close to already approved drugs
• The deal could expand Fresenius’ molecules from 29 to as many as 66 by the next decade, the company said
• The portfolio spans 13 therapeutic areas and includes monoclonal and bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates and fusion proteins
• Fresenius confirmed financial targets for 2026 and the medium term, but said it expected to raise long-term Biopharma ambitions significantly
