The Downtown Evansville Improvement District is hosting Fireworks on the Ohio Presented by Bally’s Evansville on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
The event will start at 6 PM with 25+ food trucks along Riverside Drive (from Court to Cherry Street). Free activities will be featured at Riverside & Main, including face painting and a patriotic photo backdrop. The grand finale, Fireworks on the Ohio, will happen at dusk, approximately 9:15 PM. Free parking will be available in the city parking garages at 3rd & Locust and Sycamore & 6th for event guests.
In recognition of America’s 250th birthday, this year’s event includes several commemorative elements:
- Patriotic lighting at three landmark properties along the Riverfront
- A large American flag displayed by the Perry Township Fire Department
- Performance by the Evansville Youth Music Collective at 7:30 PM
- Live music from the Indiana National Guard’s 38th Infantry Division Rock Band at 8 PM outside of Old National Bank
- A fireworks soundtrack celebrating America’s history and spirit, featuring patriotic favorites and a spectacular finale
The 17-minute fireworks show will feature over 1,400 shells and new pyrotechnic effects. The fireworks will be broadcast live on CW 7 (WTVW) and live streamed on WNIN’s YouTube channel.
Downtown businesses will be open on July 4 and the Downtown Evansville DORA will be celebrating its year anniversary. The DORA allows individuals 21 years and older to purchase alcoholic beverages from over 20 designated locations and enjoy them within the district boundaries, including along the Riverfront.
