EVANSVILLE, IN – Southwest Indiana Workforce and WorkOne are partnering to gather
southwest Indiana youth for a Career Day. Registered participants will get the opportunity to
meet with employers who are providing hands-on activities to better understand the skills
needed for specific job opportunities.
The event is free and open to young adults ages 16-24 who are not in school, in need of
employment, and interested in meeting and speaking with employers. Registration is required to
receive a free lunch provided by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Registration
for the event can be found by clicking here.
The Career Day is on March 4 at the Evansville WorkOne office located at 4600 Washington
Ave. Ste 113. The career fair begin at 10 a.m. and last until 2:30 p.m.
Southwest Indiana Workforce Business Services Manager, Valerie Schmidt says that these
events help youth explore and experience the many opportunities that are available to them
throughout the area.
“Gathering employers in one place for young adults to speak with and see what they have to
offer is a great way to get them interested. We hope this event will spark their interest with a
southwest Indiana employer,” Schmidt says.
