There are over 43 million people in the country that are in debt due to student loans, but this woman may be the oldest person in this much student debt. Meet Nancy Peter, an Illinois grandmother who’s still paying off a student loan she took in 1986. She took a loan for her psychology degree at Mundelein College in Chicago, then later on took another loan to get her Master’s at Loyola. Even as a therapist, Nancy still has a huge debt to pay that she says is hard to pay back.

She says she needs help paying the debt, and although she wanted to keep her story a secret, she was willing to share it to bring awareness.
