A young dad is in big trouble after sneaking into an elephant enclosure at the San Diego Zoo.
What made it worse? He had his toddler daughter with him. Zoo officials say Jose Manuel Navarette carried his little girl past a gate and several other barriers, apparently so he could take a picture late Friday afternoon. They say an African elephant got riled up and charged.
Witnesses say Navarette ran, tossed his daughter through the gate then jumped through right before the elephant ran him down. No one was hurt but Navarette is charged with child endangerment and could face other charges.
