Senior Samantha Cerio suffered a gruesome injury during a regional event where she came down from a double handspring and both her legs bent backwards at the knees.
Luckily for Samantha, nothing is broken. But she did dislocate both knees, and she tore multiple ligaments. She needed surgery, and she has officially retired from the sport.

History was guaranteed at the NCAA men’s basketball championship yesterday, with the Virginia and Texas Tech making their debuts in the national final. And when it was over, redemption for Virginia was complete. A year after becoming the first No. 1 seed in men’s college basketball history to lose to a No. 16 seed in the NCAA tournament, the Cavaliers are national champions, defeating No. 3 seed Texas Tech 85-77 in overtime at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Along with a dozen other parents, the actress pleaded guilty yesterday to committing fraud to increase her daughter’s SAT scores in the nationwide college admissions scandal. She released a statement fully accepting guilt and apologizing. She also said her daughter had nothing to do with it.

The singer donated $113,000 to the Tennessee Equality Project, an advocacy group involved in fighting a series of anti-LGBTQ bills in the state. In an companying letter, Swift said she is “inspired” by the group’s efforts to stand up against the “slate of hate.”
