First responders evacuated a north side neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
A construction crew damaged a gas pipe while working in the area of Oak Hill between Lynch Road and Bergdolt.
Around 30 people had to leave their homes while officials investigated the leak and shut off the gas.
Oak Hill Baptist Church opened its doors for those needing a place to stay.
They were allowed to return to their homes around 6:00 pm.
