Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden has welcomed two new additions to the penguin exhibit.
Colby and Durango hatched in April.
Both eggs were initially incubated by their parents, named Louie and Sandy, but one was later given to more experienced parents, Adiran and Chirrida, the chicks’ grandparents.
This type of foster-rearing is a common strategy used for managing penguins in human care.
Louie was the first penguin chick ever hatched at the zoo.
