A Warrick County woman facing animal cruelty charges will appear in court today.
Shayna Burko has filed a plea of guilty, but mentally ill.
In 2023, she was sentenced to two years’ probation after being convicted of animal cruelty in Vanderburgh County.
In January of last year, Burko and her mother, Kimberly, were arrested after several animals living in unsanitary conditions were removed from their home.
Kimberly will go to trial on July 7.
