Broadway Avenue will be closed to all thru traffic between Posey County Line Road (“County Rd 1200 E”) and Old Mt. Vernon Road beginning Monday April 6th after 12pm following the morning commute. This closure is expected to last until Friday August 7th pending weather conditions. This closure is required to replace the existing 1930’s bridge on Broadway Avenue. The signed detour route will be S. Posey County Line Road to Old Mt. Vernon Road.
During construction, local access is allowed only up to the bridge’s construction site. No traffic will be permitted to cross over once barricades are set-up at the bridge. This is for the safety of the workers and public. Follow all posted signs and speed limits.
The replacement is being funded through INDOT’s Community Crossings Matching Grant program. This grant pays 50% of the construction costs.
