United Way of Southwestern Indiana’s Day of Caring is the largest, coordinated volunteer service event in the area providing nonprofit organizations in Vanderburgh, Spencer, and Warrick counties the hands-on help and resources needed to further their missions. Through this day of service, we move closer to United Way’s goal of helping all people thrive!

7:00 am (CST) Doors open and breakfast buffet begins
7:30 am (CST) Program begins
- Celebration of Impact Awards
- McGary Jones Visionary & Humanitarian Award presented by Mayor Terry
8:30 am (CST) Send-off to nonprofit organizations for service projects
WHERE: Old National Events Plaza, Exhibit Hall B
WHO: United Way of Southwestern Indiana, with representation from nonprofit agencies and hundreds of volunteers ready for community service!
DETAILS: Day of Caring officially launches UWSWI’s annual fundraising campaign. A celebratory breakfast precedes a day of community service. This year, more than 1,000 volunteers signed up to help 45 local, nonprofit organizations.

Easterseals Rehabilitation Center – Early Learning Center Olympics (9:30–11:30 a.m.)
621 S. Cullen Avenue – East Entrance, Evansville
Mulch Madness in Jacobsville – Volunteers haul and place mulch around homes in Jacobsville. This is part of ongoing lead contamination prevention efforts. Go to the Dream Center, 1516 N Main St, Evansville, IN 47711 and talk to Tom Moore, CAO.
Girls Scouts/Plaza Park School – Realityapolis (8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) Students interact with businesses and services in an imaginary town to learn financial literacy skills. Volunteers operate a bank, car dealership, grocery store, etc. Go to Plaza Park 7301 Lincoln Ave, Evansville, IN 47715
