Units of the Evansville Fire and Police Departments were called out on a report of a house explosion on Wednesday.
It happened in the 1100 block of Bayard Park Drive.
Firefighters learned shortly after arrival that there wasn’t an explosion but the house was on fire.
The heaviest damage was to the basement of the home.
There are no victims or suspects.
Several kittens were rescued.
