Blue Bell Ice Cream
A now-viral video shows a woman licking some Blue Bell Tin Roof-flavored ice cream in a Walmart, then putting the lid back on and placing it back on the shelf as she cackles. Police in Lufkin, Texas, now say they believe they have identified the woman using surveillance footage. They plan to issue an arrest warrant on second-degree tampering with a consumer product — a felony that carries a prison sentence of 2-20 years and up to $10,000 in fines.

The competitive eater won the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on Long Island yesterday for the 4th year in a row and 12th overall. Chestnut was hoping to eat 75 dogs to beat his world record but only managed to down 71 in 10 minutes. Darron Breeden ate 50 dogs to finish as the runner-up.

A fire at a warehouse in Versailles, Kentucky, broke out on Tuesday night. No one was injured, however the warehouse contained 45,000 barrels of whiskey. Officials say the bourbon barrels were being allowed to burn off through yesterday. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
The Little Mermaid
Halle Bailey has been chosen to play Ariel in Disney’s next live-action adaption of the movie. “The Little Mermaid” will incorporate original songs from the 1989 animated hit as well as new tunes from original composer Alan Menken and “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The Holocaust survivor and beloved Hoosier died yesterday morning in Poland. She was there visiting for a museum she founded in Terre Haute. Kor championed forgiveness even for those who carried out the Holocaust atrocities. She was 85 years old.
LA Earthquake
The strongest earthquake to hit Southern California in 20 years rocked the region Thursday, igniting fires, triggering a hospital evacuation and shaking the area for hundreds of miles. The U.S. Geological Survey said it was a magnitude 6.4 quake.
