A man decided to drive home to Owensville after a night of drinking at an Evansville west side bar.
Police say 33 year old Johnathon Johnson almost side-swiped their patrol car while driving on North St. Joseph Avenue around 12:30 Sunday morning.
Once the car was pulled over, officers say they could smell the odor of alcohol on Johnson’s breath.
His speech was also slurred.
He was asked to take a sobriety test which he refused.
He told police that he knew he was drunk and didn’t want to waste their time.
Johnson was taken to the Vanderburgh County jail and has since been released.
