Evansville police were flagged down by someone saying they heard gunshots from 310 E. Columbia Street.
The witness saw a man outside the back door of the home with his arm in the air firing a gun.
The man, later identified as 19 year old Jeremiah Meriwether told the witness he was shooting it “for his dead homies”.
Police found a Glock with a rifle conversion kit and several rounds of ammunition inside the home.
The gun had been reported stolen.
He is charged with Criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and possession of stolen property.
