A family pet died in a house fire on Monday in Evansville.
The blaze was reported around 5:30 a.m. on North Fourth Avenue, between Virginia and Iowa. That’s one block east of Fulton Avenue.
When firefighters arrived at the home, smoke was pouring out of a bedroom window and two people were sitting on top of the porch roof.
