U-S Senator Mike Braun of Indiana is accused of improper campaign finances.
A Federal Election Commission draft audit shows about $8.5 million in banned loans.
That includes about $1.5 million from Meyer Distributing, a company that Braun created.
Corporate loans to senate campaigns are illegal.
The commission also claims five improper loans and 11 banned lines of credit totaling around $7 million.
Braun’s chief of staff calls the draft audit just that, a draft, and says the final document will show all finances complied with the law.
