Historic Newburgh, Inc. announced today the German American Bank 2019 Fireworks and Evening in the Park has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 31st.
According to a press release, they were hoping to have the fireworks celebration closer to the 4th of July; however, they were unable to secure a permit to do so due to 2 to 4 feet of river sludge piled on the parking platform that needs to be cleared. They say this process can take several days to do safely and the river will not be low enough to begin the process until Wednesday, July 3rd or later.
Despite the date change, they do plan to have the same event on Saturday, August 31st. If you bought VIP chairs or buttons, we’re told they’ll still be honored.
