The Henderson City Commission voted to accept a grant from the Federal government, for upgrades to the city/county airport.
The money will be used to acquire land, expand the runways, and relocate a road.
The upgrades are sorely needed.
The Henderson City/County airport has a lot of business travel private large jets coming in, with business customers from around the country.
The FAA has wanted the changes for years, saying the runway was too close to Kentucky Highway 136.
Adjacent land-owners have been relunctant to sell, so the county will move ahead with the plans torough eminent domain.
No home will be affected; the adjacent property is farmland.
