Leaders of the Ohio River Crossing last met with the public last night to discuss plans for the path and its construction of the project.
Section one will connect I-69 between Kentucky 425 and U.S. 60.
It will involve the construction of several roundabouts near North Middle School.
They say the roundabout design was chosen over a diamond intersection because it’s a safer alternative.
Cost is etimated at $237 million with construction to commence in 2022.
Section two is a joint project between Indiana and Kentucky, and it involves the construction of a four-lane toll bridge across the Ohio River east of the Twin Bridges.
When the I-69 bridge is completed, the northbound Henderson bridge will remain as a toll-free alternative for local traffic. The southbound bridge will be removed.
