Olympic Champion and Evansville native Lilly King was a mong the dignitaries turning a shovelful of earth at Garvin Park yesterday.
The ceremony officially marked the construction of the new Deaconess Aquatic Center, which is being built to replace the aging Lloyd indoor pool.
It was a promise Mayor Lllyd Winecke made — to replace the old natatorium with a new one in a new location.
The new center will boast of a recreational pool, a competition pool, and an ourdoor spray platform.
