…While the owners of Marilyn Monroe’s last home at 12305 5th Helena Drive where she was found dead 6 months after moving in, face a legal show down with the supreme court over property ownership rights. The outcome of this one case will determine the fate of so many protected celebrity homes that have been lovingly restore, moved and were made able to be toured much like The Estate of Elvis Presley was able to do with Graceland. The home is available for self guided and guided tours which I highly recommend.
In the event the owners of Marilyn Monroe’s secluded compound prevail in supreme court the final home of Ms. Monroe will be reduced to rubble as they have sought to raze and grade the site which would make it suitable enough to be a yard. I know that someone people are ok with letting it go, but I am not there yet. UNLESS of course the owners make available fixtures from inside of the home available to collectors. The tiles that are still in 2 of the 4 bathrooms feature tile Marilyn herself picked out in Mexico in early 1962. I’d imagine they would sell for quite the pretty penny as would the famous door step tiles. Additionally Floor tiles and light fixtures could be made available.
