Henderson Water Utility received $2 million in funding to replace its water intake structure completely.
They are calling it the South Raw Water Intake Project.
They plan to install around three thousand feet of raw water pipeline and construct a new intake structure on the Green River.
The water will be used by major manufacturers such as Tyson Foods, Columbia Sportswear, and Big Rivers Electric, with no plans to increase rates for customers.
The project will cost around $8.5 million total and should be finished by 2031.
