This might make family reunions a little more difficult. Jenna Rose Gerwatowski was curious about her own family after gifting a friend a DNA test kit. Once she took the test, her DNA matched up with DNA taken from a cold case in Michigan that belonged to an infant that died in 1997. The unidentified baby was called “Baby Garnet” after the campground it was found in, at Garnet Lake Campground. There were no clues as to who’s baby this was, so the trail went cold. After Jenna took a DNA test, the pieces started to match up and one person began to look responsible for the tragedy: Jenna’s grandmother.

Since Jenna’s grandmother, Nancy, is allegedly responsible for the baby discovered, she has been arrested and charged for murder. However, Nancy’s claim is that the court cannot prove the baby was born alive or not. This is an ongoing case, so more details will be in the upcoming future.
