The Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District (EID) is hosting a Spooky Wine Walk on Friday, October 4 from 5:30 – 8:30 PM. Registration will take place at 425 Main Street. The event is designed to encourage consumer footfall and spending at Downtown businesses.
In continuing a partnership since 2021, wines poured during the event will be exclusively from Oliver Winery in Bloomington, Indiana. All wines will be poured outside on Main Street, and attendees can carry their wine into their favorite shops. Wines include: Dry Red Blend, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Blossom Drop, Melon Mint Moscato, Apple Pie, Cosmoberry, and Blueberry Moscato. In addition to Oliver’s award-winning wines, there will be shopping, live music from Monte Skelton and DJ Chidi, free henna tattoos, photo stations, and $5 tarot readings. Costumes are encouraged.
Admission is $15 per person and includes two four-ounce tastes of Oliver wine, a commemorative tumbler, and a passport. Ticket prices increase to $25 per person at the event.
Guests will redeem their tickets at tents on the 400 and 500 blocks of Main Street. Each ticket is redeemed for a four-ounce wine pour. Guests will visit shops on the passport and receive a stamp at each location. One individual will be drawn from the stamped passports to receive a basket of Evansville merchandise and gift cards to Downtown restaurants.
Rumble Boxing is the entertainment sponsor and will judge a costume contest at 7 PM at their booth on the 400 Block of Main Street. Winners for best costume will receive a prize.
“We’re embracing the Halloween season to welcome guests to our neighborhood for wine, shopping, dining, and entertainment. Ticket sales have surpassed last fall. We encourage guests to buy their tickets now before we sell out.,” said Adam Trinkel, executive director, EID.
