A man who ran from Evansville police holding a gun near a school is in jail.
It all started when officers saw a car whose license plate didn’t match on Diamond Avenue, and followed it into the Lics Deli drive-thru.
32-year-old Codey Ritchison, who had an active arrest warrant, noticed them and ran away from his car.
Officers could see he was holding a gun which he dropped near the Academy for Innovative Studies.
The gun had a chambered round.
Ritchison was caught in the academy parking lot and booked on several charges.
