An Evansville man is sitting in jail and facing neglect charges.
Officers were called to a home on Vann Avenue around 2:00 yesterday afternoon.
Children in the home told police that their father 25-year-old William Wathen destroyed the house with an axe.
Wathen told police that his children’s mother was cheating on him.
He was ordered to take a drug test.
The children are in the custody of the Department of Children Services.
