Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb delivered his State of the State address for 2023 yesterday.
He focused on three key goals: securing Indiana’s place in the economy of the future, public health and investing in the classroom.
The governor is requesting another $500 million in funding for the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI).
Gov. Holcomb also called for major investments in public safety by raising starting pay for Indiana State Police to $70,000.
Also, providing funds for firefighter training and protective equipment.
