The open burn ban has extended to Posey, Warrick, Spencer and Perry counties due to high temperatures, dry conditions and lack of rain.
Vanderburgh county issued a burn ban early Wednesday morning.
The Evansville Environmental Protection Agency says all forms of open burning are prohibited, including, but not limited to: Recreational fires, burn barrels and agricultural and ditch clearing.
They are asking for residents to refrain from using fireworks.
For the ban to be lifted two to three substantial rainfalls need to occur.
Violators could be fined between $50 to $7500.
