Indiana governor Eric Holcomb wants to turn a billion dollars in state reserves over to Hoosier taxpayers.
That means each taxpayer would receive $225 over and above the $125 state residents are currently receiving from the automatic taxpayer refund program.
That would mean every eligible Hoosier would receive around $350 and married couples filing joint returns would get $700.
The governor has explained his plan to leaders of the state General Assembly.
