The residents of Mt. Carmel raised $6,500 for tornado victims during Friday’s cookout.
Mayor Joe Judge says there were over a dozen homes destroyed in the May 19 tornado.
The money will go to homeowners that did not have insurance.
Those people can visit the Wabash Area Development building.
Organizers from the event say monetary donations are still being accepted.
