A Princeton man received a surprise phone call from the Indiana State Police saying that his recently bought car was stolen.
Police picked up his 2019 Honda Accord, that he bought from an Evansville dealership, leaving his family in a bind.
An official with D-Patrick Honda, where the car was purchased, says he’s never seen anything like this in his 35 years in business.
The car is thought to be stolen from New York and was given a bogus VIN number.
The customer was reimbursed by D-Patrick, then they sold him a new car.
Police say not to be alarmed, because occurrences like this are uncommon.
