A driver for a trash hauling company in Ohio is being praised as a hero for saving a puppy he found abandoned on the side of the road. Aaron Kinsel works for Rumpke and was on his route outside Cincinnati when he saw a discarded backpack moving on the ground, so he got out of his truck to check it out. He found a small puppy inside and rescued her.
Kinsel wrapped the puppy up in a sweatshirt and other Rumpke workers took her to the vet for an exam. The 10-week-old boxer mix puppy was suffering from a broken leg and dehydration, but she found a new home with her rescuer. Kinsel and his family adopted her and named her Tipper, after the part of the garbage truck that picks up trash containers.
“I felt like I was meant to find her,” he says.
