Evansville Police arrest two people after a chase overnight.
Officers say they tried to stop a car for falsely registered plates but the driver refused to pull over. A chase ensued on several streets north of the downtown area.
Police were able to catch up with the suspects when their car became disabled in mud near Pigeon Creek on the Greenway.
The driver surrendered but the passenger tried to flee on foot. He was stopped by high water.
47-year-old William Monroe is facing several charges, including criminal mischief, resisting law enforcement and reckless driving.
