Indiana is marking a milestone in its efforts to dispose of unused prescription drugs. Indiana has now incinerated a million pounds of medication. That‘s 5,000 tons out of harm‘s way. Attorney General Greg Zoeller says leaving unused medications lying around the medicine cabinet creates a danger that they‘ll fall into the hands of children or otherwise be misused. And he says simply throwing away or flushing meds creates problems for the water supply.
