Founded in 1995, the Children's Center for Dance Education welcomes children of all ages, race, and talent levels into a community of dance and performance. Deena Laska-Lewis, founder, has given children opportunities to perform in large-scale productions. To continue these opportunities, CCDE needs the community’s help. For a night of fundraising, the Pink and Black Gala will showcase dance instructors serving as "taxi dancers," recreating a 1930's ballroom feel, and will feature food from Riverview by Firefly. 6:30-9:30 p.m. $50, $90 per couple.
From computer basics and job search skills to gardening, yoga, jewelry design, and culinary arts, it’s a wide college experience. For an entire morning, Ivy Tech Community College is offering free mini-classes to anyone over the age of 18. There will be a total of 35 classes and each participant will get a choice of three. Registration 8-9 a.m.; classes at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m. Free.
